The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is home to a diverse and accomplished community of alumni spanning Doctoral and Master’s programs across biomedical science, public health, data science, and health systems leadership. More than 3,200 postdoctoral alumni have completed advanced clinical and research training at Mount Sinai.

Through rigorous training and interdisciplinary collaboration, our alumni are advancing discovery, innovation, and impact across academia, industry, government, and nonprofit sectors. Alumni are connected by a shared experience and commitment to advancing science and medicine, as well as through mentorship, networking, alumni recognition, and digital platforms such as Icahn School Connect.

Message From the Dean

Graduate education is undergoing a significant evolution. The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and our newly formed Department of Graduate Education have introduced revitalized Master’s programs with new tracks and concentrations aligned to emerging career pathways and workforce needs, while our PhD Programs continue to attract and train the very best of our nation’s future biomedical and health care researchers. We have been at the forefront of incorporating biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, and data science into our graduate programs.

The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences hosted its 8th Annual Master’s Commencement Ceremony on June 20, 2025. The ceremony honored the Class of 2025’s academic accomplishments, their dedication to improving the health and well-being of communities globally, and their future endeavors. The ceremony began with an address by Brendan Carr, MD, MA, MS, Chief Executive Officer and Professor and Kenneth L. Davis, MD, Distinguished Chair of the Mount Sinai Health System. He congratulated the Class of 2025 and recognized the families and friends of our graduates and spoke about the importance of his own graduate medical training. Read more.
