Honor Mount Sinai Alumni with Special Recognition

On behalf of the Office of the Dean, The Mount Sinai Alumni Board of Governors, and the Office of Alumni and Development, we are pleased to announce that nominations for the 2026 Alumni Awards are now open. These awards celebrate Mount Sinai alumni who have made extraordinary contributions to the medical field and to the Mount Sinai community. The awards will be presented during the 2026 Mount Sinai Alumni Awards Ceremony this coming fall. 

The Board of Governors is committed to recognizing a diverse slate of awardees. We desire a pool of applicants that truly reflects our community and strongly encourage all eligible individuals to apply. 

Submission Guidelines

To submit a nomination, please provide:

  • A letter of nomination specifying the award name and a detailed rationale for why the candidate deserves this specific recognition.
  • The candidate’s CV or resume. 

Submission Deadline: Monday, June 22 at 5:00 PM 

Please Note: Candidates may only be nominated for one award, and previous award winners are ineligible.  Self-Nominations are also acceptable.

Awards and Eligibility

This award honors an alumnus/a who has made significant contributions as a teacher, investigator, and/or practitioner in the field of medicine, demonstrating outstanding leadership, innovation, or impact. 

Eligibility: Any physician who received an MD from the school. 

This award honors an alumnus/a who has made significant contributions to medical education. Recipients are recognized for advancing the field through curriculum innovation, dedicated mentorship, pedagogical scholarship, or the development of novel teaching approaches in foundational and clinical sciences.

Eligibility: Any Mount Sinai alumnus/a from any school or program.

This award honors a physician scientist (MD or MD/PhD) who is a graduate of Mount Sinai (including graduate school, medical school, residency and fellowship, or post-doctoral alumni).  

Eligibility: Any physician scientist (MD or MD/PhD) who is a graduate of Mount Sinai (including graduate school, medical school, residency and fellowship, or post-doctoral alumni).

This award honors an alumnus/a who has made significant contributions to medicine through clinical excellence as a master clinician.

Eligibility: Mount Sinai alumni in active clinical practice.

This award honors a scientist who, since graduation from the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, has made significant contributions as an investigator, and/or practitioner in their field.

Eligibility: Any scientist who is a graduate of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences or completed post-doctoral training at Mount Sinai.

This award honors a postgraduate training alumnus/a whose subsequent research, scholarship, or translational work builds on the training received at Mount Sinai. 

Eligibility: Alumni who completed postgraduate training (postdoctoral fellows, clinical residents, or fellows) in any Mount Sinai program.

This award honors an alumnus/a who has made significant contributions through humanitarian work, including public service, health equity, global health, or community support; or through a cross-disciplinary career that does not align with a single specialty or category.

Eligibility: Any Mount Sinai alumnus/a from any school or program.
