WHAT AREA OF MEDICINE ARE YOU INTERESTED IN PURSUING? HOW WILL YOUR ICAHN MOUNT SINAI EDUCATION PREPARE YOU FOR A SUCCESSFUL CAREER?

I am extremely excited to pursue a career in anesthesia. My journey toward this goal was significantly enriched by the comprehensive education and training I received at Icahn Mount Sinai. I was provided with ample exposure to anesthesiology throughout my studies, and the pre-clinical classes in physiology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology were extremely helpful in setting me up to succeed in my rotations. I am grateful for the opportunities and support I've received, which have further ignited my enthusiasm for this challenging and rewarding field.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FAVORITE CLASS YOU HAVE TAKEN SO FAR?

My favorite class so far has been renal pathophysiology. I thought it was really well organized and the professors were amazing. I still use what I was taught during that class, and my understanding was greatly enhanced by the way it was taught to me.

WHAT EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES ARE YOU INVOLVED IN AT ICAHN MOUNT SINAI?

The extracurricular activity I'm most involved with is mentoring younger medical students and high school students through the First Generation Scholars Program. I was always grateful for my mentors, as I am sure I would not have made it this far without them. As a result, I try to return the favor by helping out as many people as I can in whatever capacity they might need at the time.
