Brianna Gordon is interested in pursuing primary care and looks forward to working with patients through Mount Sinai’s Visiting Doctors Program and the Institute for Family Health, a federally qualified health center in Harlem. To date, Brianna’s favorite course has been Renal Pathophysiology, where she honed her clinical reasoning skills and synthesized her past studies through the lens of renal dysfunction. Brianna is currently a leader of the Human Rights and Social Justice Program and conducted research on the connections between neighborhood cohesion and children’s mental health. Brianna is also involved with the Music in Medicine Interest Group at Icahn Mount Sinai, and through this group, she will soon perform piano pieces for patients at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
“Deciding to pursue a career in medicine after my undergraduate studies was a huge emotional and financial investment for myself and my family. I am so grateful for your scholarship support, as it has eased some of the barriers to medical school education and has helped immeasurably on my medical school journey.”
