Election of Michael M. Lederman, M.D. for American Academy of Microbiology

Please find below a press release announcing the election of Michael M. Lederman, who received his M.D. from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 1974, to Fellowship in the American Academy of Microbiology (Academy). Fellows of the Academy are elected annually through a highly selective, peer-reviewed process, based on their records of scientific achievement and original contributions that have advanced microbiology. There are now over 2,000 Fellows representing all subspecialties of microbiology, including basic and applied research, teaching, public health, industry, and government service.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: ( Seventy-eight Scientists Elected to the American Academy of Microbiology )

Washington, DC – May 7, 2010 – Seventy-eight microbiologists have been elected to Fellowship in the American Academy of Microbiology (Academy). Fellows of the Academy are elected annually through a highly selective, peer-review process, based on their records of scientific achievement and original contributions that have advanced microbiology. There are now over 2,000 Fellows representing all subspecialties of microbiology, including basic and applied research, teaching, public health, industry, and government service. The new Fellows are as follows:
