Appointment of Roopa Kohli-Seth, MD, as Director of the Institute for Critical Care Medicine

We are pleased to share the appointment of Roopa Kohli-Seth, MD, as Director of the Institute for Critical Care Medicine (ICCM) at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
As Chief of the Division of Surgical Critical Care, Director of the Surgical Intensive Care Unit, and Professor of Surgery, Dr. Kohli-Seth has been a clinical leader at Mount Sinai. She has demonstrated strength in identifying issues and creating solutions that positively impact the care and safety of critically ill patients. A key faculty member for the fellowship in Critical Care Medicine and Critical Care Anesthesiology, Dr. Kohli-Seth has worked to develop a robust multidisciplinary educational curriculum for trainees.
Dr. Kohli-Seth completed her Critical Care Fellowship at Mount Sinai and subsequently joined the faculty of the Department of Surgery. She has taken on several leadership roles within the hospital, including serving as Director of Central Venous Access Service and chairing several hospital committees focused on patient safety outcomes. A well-published author and enthusiastic teacher and researcher, Dr. Kohli-Seth was recognized as the 2015 Physician of the Year by the hospital’s Department of Nursing.
Dr. Kohli-Seth is a team leader who embodies a commitment to clinical excellence, quality assurance, and performance improvement. Under her greatly skilled leadership, the Institute for Critical Care Medicine will advance several noteworthy projects to improve quality of care for critically ill patients at The Mount Sinai Hospital.
