We are pleased to share the appointment of Cynthia Girdusky, RN, as Vice President of Patient Care Services for Mount Sinai Downtown Perioperative Services and New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai (NYEE). She previously served as Senior Director of Nursing, Perioperative Services at Mount Sinai Beth Israel (MSBI), and before that as Assistant Director of Endoscopy at MSBI.
In her new role, Mrs. Girdusky will focus on redesigning services, implementing a progressive shift from inpatient to ambulatory. She will work to provide quality care to patients while managing both inpatient and outpatient facilities throughout the Downtown campus, at MSBI (including the Phillips Ambulatory Care Center and Comprehensive Cancer Center West) and NYEE. Working as a team with the physicians of Mount Sinai Health System, as well as nursing and support staff, her focus will be on creating efficient teamwork and a culture of inclusiveness.
Mrs. Girdusky began her career in 1991 at North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, NY. During her 25 years there, she served as Nurse Manager in Perioperative Services with clinical experience in several service line specialties, including gynecology; ear, nose, and throat; dental; ophthalmology; plastic surgery; and robotic surgery. Partnering with physicians, she was actively involved in achieving designation as an American Association of Gynecological Laparascopists Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. In addition, Mrs. Girdusky helped develop a hybrid operating room for high-risk cesarean sections, resulting in increased utilization, patient safety, and physician satisfaction.
Mrs. Girdusky earned her MPA in Healthcare Administration from Long Island University. In 1996, she received training as an Advanced Practice First Assistant. She is a member of the National Association of Perioperative Nursing, the American Society of Reproductive Medicine and the Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates.
Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Girdusky on her appointment.
