Fran Cartwright, PhD, RN-BC, AOCN Appointed Chief Nursing Officer

We are pleased to share that Fran Cartwright, PhD, RN-BC, AOCN has been appointed Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President of The Mount Sinai Hospital and Mount Sinai Queens, based upon her superb performance in these roles in an interim capacity since March 2016.
During this period, Dr. Cartwright has provided exceptional leadership.
One of her initial successes was the alignment of our diverse nursing
expertise into four pillars: Research and Evidence-Based Practice, Quality, Practice and Regulatory, and Education. She has further restructured the nursing table of organization to align with value-based care coordination across specialty services, providing the infrastructure for a transformational transdisciplinary leadership model.
On a national level, Dr. Cartwright continues to advance education and evidence-based practice of nurses by serving as the chairperson, coordinator and/or member of several regional and national committees. She continues to share patient and professional education strategies and program planning as well as research outcomes in multiple venues, including book chapters, numerous manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals, and national and international podium presentations.
Throughout her 32-year nursing career, Dr. Cartwright has demonstrated strong leadership through extensive service line and clinical, quality, and research program development. Her clinical expertise and collaborative, inclusive leadership style will ensure her continued success in her new role of Chief Nursing Officer and Senior Vice President.
