We are proud to announce that the Mount Sinai Health System has ranked No. 3 on the 2016 DiversityInc “Top 10 Hospitals and Health Systems”list, and was the highest-ranked health system in the New York metro area. Top-ranked hospitals and health care systems must score well on a 300-question self-assessment survey on multiple diversity criteria such as talent pipeline, talent development, leadership commitment, and supplier diversity. The Mount Sinai Health System earned its high ranking for demonstrating best practices in employee resource group participation, manager participation in cross-cultural mentoring, executive diversity councils setting goals tied to executive compensations, and educating mentoring diverse suppliers.
DiversityInc, the nation’s leading publication in advancing excellence in diversity management, objectively analyzes dozens of areas of diversity in health care management and the impact on patient care delivery. The metrics-driven review and scoring of data focuses on four equally weighted areas: Talent Pipeline, Equitable Talent Development, CEO/Leadership Commitment, and Supplier Diversity. Companies with more than 1,000 U.S.-based employees were eligible to enter the competition at no cost.
