We are pleased to announce the appointment of James P. Jones, MD, as Vice President, Administration, Mount Sinai Roosevelt, and Senior Medical Director of Clinical Documentation Quality Improvement (CDQI) for the Mount Sinai Health System.
In his role as Vice President, Dr. Jones will provide oversight at Mount Sinai Roosevelt for CDQI, social work, utilization management and review, informatics technology and the outpatient ambulatory practices at Mount Sinai Roosevelt. Dr. Jones will also partner with organizational stakeholders across the health system to embed the care coordination processes necessary to ensure that the patient care experience and outcomes meet agreed-upon measures of success.
In his role as Senior Director for CDQI, Dr. Jones will organize and lead clinical documentation quality improvement efforts across the Health System, ensuring specificity and comprehensiveness to support appropriate risk adjustment of our patient population.
Dr. Jones received his medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Mexico. After completing his residency, chief resident year, and fellowships in Nephrology and Critical Care at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital Center, Dr. Jones joined their Divisions of Nephrology and Critical Care in 2008, advancing to Associate Fellowship Director, Division of Nephrology, and Director of both Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and Transplant Donor Evaluations. His most recent roles have been as Director of Medical Informatics and Quality Initiatives for Mount Sinai St. Luke’s and Mount Sinai Roosevelt, and System Medical Director, CDQI, for the Mount Sinai Health System. He is also the Medical Director for the Harlem Green Dialysis Center, and recently completed a fellowship in Healthcare Transformation at the American Hospital Association, where he is a Senior Fellow.
