To: Mount Sinai Alumni, Hospital Staff, and Medical School Faculty:
I am pleased to announce that we are presently accepting nominations for the 6 awards that will be presented at the Annual Meeting of the Mount Sinai Alumni on Wednesday, February 6th, 2013. We will also be honoring our newest Life Members.
These meaningful awards enable us to acknowledge those individuals in the Mount Sinai community who have distinguished themselves by providing leadership as teachers, researchers, and practitioners.
The (6) awards are listed below. (You may click on the title of each award to see all past recipients.)
The Saul Horowitz, Jr. Memorial Award This award recognizes a physician who has made or gives promise of making significant contributions as a teacher, investigator, and/or practitioner in the field of medicine.
The J. Lester Gabrilove Award This award recognizes a career of proven and continued excellence in basic science and/or clinical research.
The Mount Sinai Alumni Special Recognition Award This award recognizes and thanks individuals who have given exceptional service to the Alumni Association.
The Mount Sinai Alumni Award for Achievement in Medical Education This award recognizes individuals who have made major contributions to the field of medical education. The Dr. Sidney Grossman Distinguished Humanitarian Award
The award recognizes those who display humanism in medicine and provide extraordinary service and inspirational leadership to others.
Student Leadership Award This award recognizes a graduating medical student selected by his or her peers for exemplary leadership in organizing class activities and outstanding service to the Mount Sinai community. PROCESS OF NOMINATION:
