Dr. Sheena Easwaramangalath Chandran and Samir Kher Ranade were married
Saturday at the Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif. Pandit
Samudrala Krishnama Charyulu, a Hindu priest, officiated.
The bride, 29, is taking her husband’s name. She is a third-year
resident in orthopedic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New
York. She graduated from Stanford, from which she also received a
master’s in biomechanical engineering. She also has a medical degree
from New York Medical College.
She is the daughter of Sarasa Valiyaparambil Chandran and Dr. Rama E.
Chandran of Rolling Hills, Calif. The bride’s father is an orthopedic
surgeon in private practice in Torrance, Calif. Her mother is the office
manager for the practice.
The groom, 31, is an associate in the New York office of the Cleveland
law firm Baker Hostetler. He graduated from Emory and received a law
degree from New York University.
He is the son of Neela K. Ranade and Ashok Ranade of Washington. The
groom’s mother is the chief negotiating actuary at the Pension Benefit
Guaranty Corporation, a federal agency in Washington that takes over
pension plans of bankrupt companies. His father retired as a senior
research scientist at Telcordia Technologies in Red Bank, N.J., a
software provider for telecommunications networks.
